This genuine Commemorative coin, struck in 90% silver for centennial of the Monroe Doctrine, depicts James Monroe and John Quincy Adams. The Reverse shows two women in form of North & South America.
This historic 90% silver half dollar commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Monroe Doctrine – which declared the Americas were off limits to future colonization. The obverse depicts its primary founders, James Monroe and John Adams. The reverse shows two female forms posed to symbolize the North and South America.
