Description
I live about 25 miles from the Oakland Bay Bridge. A new bridge has been constructed alongside the old bridge within the last few years. No fanfare for the additional bridge. But, in 1936 there was plenty of celebrating. The trip from Oakland to San Francisco used to circle the San Francisco Bay, about a 40 mile trip. Now, just a mile and a half, and a .00 bridge toll is all it takes today. Back when the Bridge first opened, the toll was 50 cents, and, AND was to last only until the cost of the bridge had been paid off. Forget that promise.....LOL.This 1936-S Bay Bridge Commemorative silver Half Dollar is Uncirculated, with a faint coppery toning. I see a coin with no scratches, no marks, and the rims are nick and ding free. A nice coin kept as a momento of the 1936 event.
Any additional items purchased can be combined in one mailer for an additional 25 cents postage per item.
