Myrica Rubra is the name scientific name for Chinese Bayberry. It is a berry with a sweet, tart, and slight bitter fruit that is known widely in many Asian countries. In Japan, it is known as yangmomo, in China as Yangmei.
It is very much a Spring fruit and can no longer be found in season.
Who would have thought berries and potatoes get along well (^_^)

Lays Potato Chips has been kicking up a notch by creating flavors of local foods into their new flavored chips.
Of course, Lays USA has its own selection of yummy American flavors that are craved in foreign countries. But let’s flip this chip the other way (^_~)
On the flip side, we can also taste the yummy flavors that are local to other countries thanks to this “Around The World” Series.
I am constantly hunting different international stores because I love to try new the various types and flavors. It is much pricier than the regular flavors, but its so worth the hunt ~~
Some are pretty hard to find flavors, and most are seasonal. Some come in every month or so, and some come once a year or its a special limited edition!
Don’t forget! These are still Lays Potato chips!
But these chips are more than a snack!
