Composition:
Ket0c0nazole 200 mg
Package contains:
5 strips x 10 tablets = 50 Tablets
Pharmacology:
Inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol which is a vital component in fungal cell membranes, thereby affecting cell permeability.
Indication:
- Fungal infections of the skin, hair, and mucosa caused by dermatophytes and/or yeasts (dermatophytosis, pityriasis versicolor, pityrosporum folliculitis, mucacutaneous candidiasis), when these infections cannot be treated topically because the lesion site is not on the skin surface or failure of therapy local;
- Not indicated for fungal meningitis because ketoconazole does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier well.
Dose:
Adult: Skin infections: 1 tablet (200 mg) once daily with meals. If there is no reaction with this dose, the dose is increased to 2 tablets (400 mg daily).
Children:
- Not to be used for children under 2 years of age.
- Children weighing less than 15 kg: 20 mg 3 times a day with meals.
- Children weighing 15 – 20 kg: 100 mg once a day at mealtime.
- Children weighing more than 30 kg are the same as adults.
In general, the dose is continued without interruption for at least 1 week after all symptoms have disappeared and until the culture on the media becomes negative.
Prophylactic Treatment:
1 tablet (200 mg) daily with meals
Duration of Treatment:
- Mycosis of the skin caused by dermatophytes: 4 weeks.
- Pityriasis versicolor: 10 days
- Mucocutaneous candidiasis: 2-3 weeks
- Hair infection: 1 month.

- Hypersensitivity to ket0c0nazole
